University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR)


The University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR) was founded in 1541 and is considered the main centre of technological innovation in the Ebro Valley (Spain).  The university has more than 40.000 faculty members, 18 centers, 56 departments and 6 investigation institutes.

UNIZAR also has a great experience in European research projects and during the LIFE+ Zero Residues project the university will be represented by the Plant Foods Research Group. The overall objective of the group´s activities is the use of the innovation, the technological development and the knowledge for increasing the quality and the added value in the horticultural sector. The group also has particular expertise in post-harvest technologies, and low-impact decontamination procedures for the sanitation and preservation of fruits and vegetables.
