Successful presentation of the project in FORO INNOVA at Fruit Attraction 2016

The Zero Residues project was presented by the complete consortium, including the coordinating beneficiary University of Zaragoza, the Parque Científico Tecnológico de Aula Dei and 6 private partners. During the event they presented the developments of the project so far during these past three years. The presentation was divided in the following parts:

  1. Dr. Eva Campos from UNIZAR explained the Zero Residues methodology and the importance of sensorial analyses for stone fruit; 
  2. Javier Arizmendi from Zerya presented the development of the Zero Residues protocol and the implications for brand certification;
  3. Esther Lafuente from Lafuente Tomey explained the methods for pre and post harvest that are implemented in their facilities during harvest and control; 
  4. Xavier Nacher from Seipasa explained the new phytosanitary products applied to stone fruit farming that comply with zero residue norms; 
  5. Dr. Esther Arias of PCTAD mentioned the post-harvest technologies used in the project and the analyses that are carried out to evaluate the shelf-life of the fresh produce in order to decrease food waste at the supermarket or consumer's home. 
  6. Nick van Lanen from TOP BV. explained the technologies of microperforated packaiging that allow for longer fruit shelf-life,
  7. and Sven Kallen from Transfer Consultancy presented the market perspectives and the consumer's perception from two market sutdies carried out at supermarkets in The Netherlands and Spain. 

The seminar was attended by more than 40 people that actively participated during the questions round and showed plenty of interest to find out more about the project.
