On December 4th and 10th 2014, Mª Eugenia Venturini from UNIZAR, partner of the ZERO RESIDUES project, was invited to give a training on Post-harvest Quality and Conservation in the ‘Escuela Agrícola Verde Km0’. These courses are part of the activities organized in the LIFE 12 project (ENV/ES/000919) "HUERTAS LIFE KM0: Environmental recovery in suburban areas through the intervention on the ecosystem and ecological agriculture" led by the city council of Zaragoza and whose main objectives are the recovery the suburban fertile soil of Zaragoza; the regeneration of the flora and fauna and the adaptation of the arable land for natural agriculture; the promotion and support of new eco-farmers; and the creation of new urban gardens. This training was a great opportunity to share experiences and ideas as well as potential partnerships for the sustainable conservation of horticultural products.
